Alert and Aware Program Do you or someone you know have hearing loss? Traditional fire detectors rely on loud alarms that may not be effective for individuals with hearing loss. The Alert and Aware Program helps ensure safety by providing full or partial subsidies for bedroom fire alerting systems to qualified applicants. Who Qualifies? To be eligible, applicants must: Be a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador Provide proof of household income Provide proof of hearing loss Complete the program application and submit all required documents Funding is based on net household income and the number of people in the household. What’s Included? Successful applicants receive a Home Aware II Bedroom Alerting System, designed to enhance safety with: Integrated Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm Sensors Bright Red Display, Strobe Flash, and a 105 dB Alarm (adjustable to your preference) Bed Shaker and T3 Smoke Detector for nighttime alerts Smartphone Connectivity to signal alarms, phone calls, and messages Apply Today – insert application link (currently on the website).
