With great sadness, CHHA-NL board of directors and staff announce the passing of Families Resource Group chairperson Susan Brown on February 26, 2017.

Brown, Susan Lynn – Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday February 26th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer, Susan Lynn Brown, age 55 years. Susan loved life and all it had to offer. As a quilter she was the seam that held the fabric of the family together. Family above all was her life. Leaving to honour and cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 20 years: Paul; beloved children: Mark (Maggie)Courish, St. Philip’s, Kristin Courish, St. John’s, Alexander Brown, St. John’s, and Jennifer Brown, St. John’s; granddaughter, Clara Courish, St. John’s; mother, Mae Squires (Bill Wallace), St. John’s; sister, Heather (Ken) Ridley, Petawawa, ON; brother, David (Cathy) Squires, Milton, ON; parents-in-law Joan(Weldon)Brown, St. John’s; sisters-in-law: Karen Brown, St. John’s and Gail Brown (Darlene Jacobs), Mount Pearl. Susan is predeceased by her father Eric Squires (1994). Also leaving to cherish her memory are special friends Kim and Kate as well as a large number of other relatives and friends. A sincere thank-you to all who have helped Susan and our family though this journey. At Susan’s request cremation has already taken place. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, Feb 28 and Wednesday, March 1 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral Service to take place on Thursday March 2, 2017 at 11:00am from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Logy Bay Road, St. John’s followed by a private family inurnment to be held at the Kenmount Road Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Susan’s memory to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
