TINNITUS RETRAINING THERAPY

Hearing Matters Day 2018

Tinnitus (ringing, buzzing or other sounds in the ear) can be bothersome to many, and very distressing to some. Tinnitus Retraining Therapy can help a person “habituate” their Tinnitus (find a state of mind where the Tinnitus is no longer bothersome)

Tinnitus Retraining Therapy is delivered by audiologists with specialized training and includes counseling, sound therapy and time.  Learn more about this form of therapy at this special presentation on May 5.

HEARING LOSS AND SENIORS: HOW TO COPE & WHAT FAMILY MEMBERS CAN DO

Hearing Matters Day

Navigating and understanding hearing loss can be challenging and frustrating for both individuals and their family members. Every day, hearing loss support specialists at the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association – Newfoundland and Labrador (CHHA-NL) provide information and practical, real-life strategies to families.

  • Have a family member who is struggling to hear but won’t do anything about it?
  • Did your family member purchase hearing aids but still doesn’t seem to be hearing well?
  • Are you withdrawing from communicating with your family member because it’s frustrating?

This presentation will give you a greater understanding of hearing loss (why does my family member hear me one minute, then not the next?) and will provide tips on ways to support your family member through their hearing journey.
