The “Daisy’s Ears” story book is an 18 page full colour, illustrated story about a dog named Daisy, created by the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association – Newfoundland and Labrador (CHHA-NL).
Throughout the story, Daisy learns about the importance of good hearing health and caring for her ears.
This fun story encourages children to listen to music and electronics at a low volume, and to wear earplugs or earmuffs in loud places like concerts or movie theatres. The story uses simple language, repetition and questions to engage young children.

The Importance of Early Hearing Health Education
Exposure to noise can have serious effects on children’s health and well-being. Noise-induced hearing loss is 100% preventable through education and proper use of hearing protection.
Early education on hearing health and the dangers of noise is important to create a culture where lower volume and the use of hearing protection is a normal part of everyday life.
