Leon Mills

Executive Director

Leon has been the Executive Director of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association-Newfoundland and Labrador (CHHA-NL) since 1996 and was the Chapter President in 1995-1996. He has a wide variety of career experience in various fields as a teacher and in community recreation. He has a Masters Degree in Education (1997), specializing in Educational Leadership. In 2004, he earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE). He self-identifies as being hard of hearing and has worn two hearing aids since 1984.

Administrative Assistant

Irene is the friendly face of CHHA-NL. She is the first person you will meet when you walk through our doors, and the voice you will hear first when you call our office. Irene has been working with the Association since 2001 and previously worked with other non-profit organizations in St. John’s before joining our team.

 

Kim Pratt-Baker

Director of Programs and Services

Kim has a background in Gerontology and joined the CHHA-NL team in 2003 after working with the Senior’s Resource Centre. Kim manages the Programs and Services team and ensures the Association is addressing the needs of individuals with hearing loss in Newfoundland and Labrador. Kim also coordinates new and special projects for the Association.

Andrea Augot

Coordinator of Client Services

Andrea joined the CHHA-NL team in 2011 and has worked in the community and non-profit sector for many years. Andrea has a strong background working with individuals with disabilities, and as the Coordinator of Client Services, works with individuals, families and individuals to find better hearing solutions. Andrea also coordinates the CHHA-NL resource groups and the CHHA-NL volunteer program.

Brittany Hiscock

Facilitator of Programs and Services

Brittany joined the CHHA-NL team in 2016. Brittany is a social worker with a great interest in working in community programming.  Her role at CHHA-NL is to lead the ARC Achievement Program, working with Resource Groups, and administering CHHA-NL funding programs to the community. She also delivers our Grade 4 Noise Awareness program in the Avalon region.

Terry Martin

Director of Fund Development

Terry initiated the Ultimate Dream Home Fundraising Campaign in 1995. Since that time CHHA-NL has successfully completed 25 Ultimate Dream Home Campaigns (and counting). The efforts of Terry and the Association’s fund development team enables CHHA-NL to provide many programs and services to hard of hearing people and their families throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Susan Hand

Manager of Fund Development

Susan joined the CHHA-NL team in 2006 and we have been growing our fundraising efforts ever since! Susan manages and coordinates the fundraising activities of the association, primarily, but not limited to, the Ultimate Dream Home (UDH) and Better Hearing for Life Lotteries (BHFLL). Susan holds the professional designations Certified in Management, C.I.M., Professional Manager, P.Mgr., and Chartered Manager, C.Mgr..
